Domestic Animal Business (DAB) Permits

DAB Permits

Under the Domestic Animals Act 1994, a Domestic Animal Business is considered to be:

  • Boarding establishments (including Doggy Daycare facilities)
  • Breeding and rearing businesses
  • Dog training establishments
  • Pet shops
  • Shelters and pounds

These businesses must register their premises as a Domestic Animal Business with council before they can operate. Domestic Animal Business permits must be renewed annually by 10 April each year.
