Progress Associations

Progress associations are local resident associations, owned and run by their members. Any resident is entitled to and welcome to become a member of their local progress association. They often communicate their concerns and suggestions to appropriate government departments, the local council or other relevant organisations.

Please see below list of Progress Associations in the Southern Grampians Shire.

Around the Towns with Council

Council is bringing local government directly to the communities it serves, with the Around the Towns with Council community Catch Up program rolling out across the Shire.

The initiative reflects one of the most fundamental pillars of local government: that the best decisions are made when councillors hear directly from the people they represent.

Once a month throughout the year, elected councillors and Council staff will travel to a different township across the Shire, hosting informal, face-to-face sessions that are open to any topic, any concern, and any idea.

Upcoming Around the Towns visits include:

  • Tuesday 31 March – Byaduk

  • Tuesday 28 April – Branxholme

  • Tuesday 26 May – Dunkeld

  • Tuesday 23 June – Glenthompson
