Victoria Police Legacy, together with Victoria Police, will host the inaugural Family Day in Hamilton. This free, family-friendly gathering brings local emergency services, volunteer organisations, community groups, council teams and support agencies into one welcoming space to celebrate community service, resilience and preparedness across the Southern Grampians.

Across the day, visitors can get hands-on with interactive displays and speak directly with the people who respond when it matters most. Watch emergency demonstrations that show how crews work together at incidents, learn what to do in the first crucial minutes of an emergency and pick up practical tips you can use at home, at work and on the road. Children can climb aboard vehicles, meet police, firefighters, paramedics and SES volunteers, try age-appropriate safety activities and take part in simple challenges designed to build confidence and awareness. For young people and adults considering future pathways, there will be clear information on volunteering and careers in the emergency, health and community sectors, along with guidance on training, recruitment steps and the many ways to contribute behind the scenes.

The day is much about connection as it is about capability. Whether you're bringing the kids for a fun, informative outing, checking out volunteer options or keen to understand how agencies coordinate across the Southern Grampians, you'll find friendly faces, practical knowledge and plenty to do. Join in to recognise the contribution of our emergency services and volunteers, strengthen community ties and take simple steps that make a real difference when the unexpected happens.
