Warm Winter Reads at the Hamilton Library
Published on 28 May 2025
Whether you’re an aspiring bookworm or a card-carrying library regular, the Hamilton Library is inviting the community to find comfort, connection and creativity through the simple joy of reading this Winter.
As part of a statewide program, the library are proud to be running a series of events promoting the Warm Winter Read campaign.
The Warm Winter Read is a statewide initiative that invites adults (16+) to explore their reading practices and find room for books in their lives. Whether you’re a curious newcomer to the world of books or a long-time library regular, the Warm Winter Read offers something for everyone—complete with events, prize opportunities and personalised support from library staff to help you find your next great read.
Hamilton Library Services Coordinator, Kelly Pitt-Lancaster sees the program as an opportunity to spark a love of reading.
“Reading is such a universal joy, it brings your brain to life, it boosts your mood, and it can even fight loneliness,” said Ms Pitt-Lancaster.
“Our staff are here to help you to kindle that love of the written word. We have everything from lightweight ‘fluffy’ reads to audiobooks, graphic novels or classic literature. If there’s something you’d love that we don’t have, we will do everything we can to find it for you.”
As part of the campaign, readers are encouraged to leave reviews of the books they read to go into the draw for some fabulous prizes—another reason to get turning those pages.
The Warm Winter Read will also feature a series of special events to bring readers out of the cold and into the community.
