Readers across the Southern Grampians will have the chance to hear from one of Australia's most celebrated authors on 30 September 2026, when internationally bestselling crime writer Michael Robotham visits Hamilton as part of his national book tour.

A free event hosted by the Hamilton Library, this special evening at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre will celebrate the release of Robotham's latest novel, Tell Me Something True, while offering audiences a rare insight into the mind of one of the country's finest storytellers. The author will be pleased to sign books for the audience following the show and Bellcourt Books of Hamilton will have a stall to purchase books on the night.

Known for bestselling psychological thrillers including The Suspect, Life or Death, Good Girl, Bad Girl and When You Are Mine, Robotham has built an international following for his masterful storytelling. His latest novel has already attracted early widespread acclaim, marking another milestone in a career spanning more than two decades.

Tell Me Something True is Mr. Robothams 20th novel, but the 1st to be set in Australia. It is an astonishing, emotional epic. A mystery, a coming-of-age tale and a love story wrapped into one, set against the simmering tensions of a small Australian town.

Senior Library Coordinator Kelly Pitt-Lancaster said the event was a wonderful opportunity for local readers and writers to hear from a popular author about his writing process, about his characters and story development.

"We're beyond thrilled to welcome Michael Robotham to Hamilton," Ms Pitt-Lancaster said.

“His books are always in demand with our readers with crime thrillers being our most popular and in-demand genre.  Having someone of Michael's calibre visit our community is incredibly exciting and we're looking forward to sharing the experience with readers from across the region."

Over the course of the evening, Michael will discuss his writing process, his books and his journey from investigative journalist and ghostwriter to one of Australia's most successful novelists. Bellcourt books will be selling books on the night for audience members to purchase copies and have autographed.

With more than 20 bestselling novels translated into dozens of languages and millions of copies sold worldwide, Robotham has become one of Australia's leading literary exports. His work has earned numerous international awards and several of his novels have been adapted for television.

The event will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday 30 September at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre. The PAC bar will be open from 6.30pm and reopen following the show with drinks and snacks available for purchase.

Bookings are essential and early reservations are encouraged to avoid disappointment. Please visit the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre website for bookings.
