Southern Grampians Shire Council is inviting contractors from across the region to come together for a networking and information evening on Tuesday 16 September 2025 at Melville Oval.
This year’s event will provide valuable insights into Council’s upcoming projects and how local contractors can play a role in shaping the Shire’s future.
The evening will be particularly relevant for those working in construction, design, surveying, and infrastructure, with a focus on helping businesses understand how to become a Council contractor.
Attendees will hear about the capital works program for 2025 and 2026, gain practical advice on improving tender submissions, and learn more about Council’s procurement processes. This information will cover topics from how projects are advertised through to how Council is planning future works.
Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Dennis Heslin said the event would be informative and a great networking opportunity.
“This session will give contractors across the south-west the chance to hear directly from Council staff about upcoming infrastructure projects and the requirements for working with us,” Cr Heslin said.
“Contractors will also learn how to access key information and strengthen their opportunities to successfully bid for work. Beyond the presentations, it’s an excellent chance to connect with peers, build industry contacts, and enjoy some light refreshments.”
Cr Heslin encouraged those in the industry to attend and share the invitation with their networks.
The evening will run from 5.00pm to 7.30pm and will include a short presentation, introductions to Council staff, and time to network. While the focus is on local government projects, the event will also be valuable to those interested in government contract work more broadly.
Bookings are required. Reserve your spot by contacting Southern Grampians Shire Council on (03) 5573 0444.
