Louth Swap Bridge Remediation Works

Council wishes to inform residents and road users that important repair and rehabilitation works will soon take place on the Louth Swamp Bridge.

These works will focus on repairing the bridge expansion joints and nearby road surfaces to help maintain the bridge’s strength, safety, and long-term durability. This scheduled maintenance is an important part of keeping our local roads and bridges safe, preventing water damage and corrosion, and ensuring the bridge continues to meet modern standards.

Works will commence on Monday 3 November 2025 and continue through Friday 7 October 2025.

Timelines for the works

Expansion Joint Repairs one day 3/11/25 - 3/11/25
Bridge Approaches three days 4/11/25 - 6/11/25
Site Cleanup & Demob one day 7/11/25 - 7/11/25

During this period, there will be some temporary disruptions including:

Reduced speed limits in work zones for the safety of workers and road users
Temporary road closures and detours to allow safe and efficient progress

Council encourages all motorists to plan ahead and allow additional travel time. Clear signage and traffic management will be in place to help assist drivers safely through the area.
