The Hamilton Skatepark Skate Improvements project forms part of Council’s broader strategy to enhance recreational infrastructure and improve both safety and functionality for the community. This initial stage focuses on delivering key upgrades through the installation of two new skate elements and general repair works to the existing skate surface. These works form part of a multi-phase concept plan developed to progressively revitalise the skatepark.
The current package of works includes conditioning and preparing the existing slab, removing the deteriorated metal pyramid, and replacing it with a new concrete pyramid. A new concrete volcano element will also be installed, and approximately six square metres of patching will be undertaken to repair damaged joins in the current surface. The new elements have been designed to match the existing park’s texture and appearance, ensuring a smooth and safe riding experience.
Construction is scheduled to commence on Monday, 28 July 2025, and is expected to be completed by Friday, 8 August 2025.
