Hamilton's ANZAC Day services offer a meaningful opportunity for residents and visitors to gather and honour the sacrifices made by Australian servicemen and women. The day begins with a solemn dawn service at the Melville Oval Cenotaph at 6:30am, where the community comes together in a quiet reflection as the sun rises. This early morning gathering provides a space for people of all ages to pay their respects and remember those who served.

Later in the morning, the streets of Hamilton come alive with the annual ANZAC Day march, which steps off from Gray Street at 10:15am. Marchers will proceed down Brown Street, accompanied by veterans, current service personnel, community groups and local representatives. The march makes it way to the key memorials before continuing onto the Cenotaph for the Commemorative Service. The main service at the Melville Oval Cenotaph begins at 11am and includes official addresses, wreath-laying, the playing of the Last Post and a minute's silence - all observed with a deep sense of respect and gratitude.

The event is open to everyone, offering a chance to come together in honour and remembrance, and to reflect on the enduring significance of ANZAC Day in the Hamilton community. Whether attending the dawn service, joining the march or gathering for the commemorative ceremony, all are welcome to participate and pay tribute.
