Community Connection - New Residents Function at Hamilton Library
Published on 14 March 2024
Southern Grampians Shire Council, along with the residents of our wonderful community would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest friends and neighbours.
On Monday 15 April, Council will host the annual New Residents function to a welcome all new residents, or existing residents who want to become more active in the community.
Whether you’ve just arrived or have been navigating the streets for some time already, anyone and everyone has the opportunity to meet other newcomers, mingle and find out just what makes this region tick.
With information about the region and friendly meet and greets with volunteer organisations, community groups, sports teams and everyone else who can’t wait to meet you, you’ll have the chance to connect with locals and other newbies and find your niche.
Refreshments and finger food will be provided including a few ice-breaking beverages to get conversation started.
“One of the best parts of my job is meeting the people who make this region so special,” said Mayor Councillor, David Robertson.
“I’m excited to meet everyone who has chosen to make this Shire their home. We’re honoured that people want to move here and bring their skills and experiences to our region. Building relationships can be very difficult in a new place so I’m glad we can roll out the red carpet and show everyone how truly welcome and appreciated they are,” concluded Cr Robertson.
The event is being held in the Greater Hamilton Library, 105 Brown St Hamilton from 6pm.
