Council Adopts Plans and Vision for the Future

15 October 2021

Council has adopted key plans and a vision for the future of the region at the ordinary Council meeting held Wednesday 13 October 2021.

The Council Plan 2021-2025 establishes Council’s objectives and strategies for the next four years, whilst the SG2041 Community Vision Framework sets an ambitious 20 year strategic community vision. The Community Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2021-2025 outlines Council’s community health and wellbeing priorities for the next four years. These plans and vision have been developed after extensive community consultation.

Southern Grampians Mayor Bruach Colliton said it was satisfying to finalise key documents which will ultimately guide Council now and into the future.

“These plans and vision will provide Council with an ongoing strategic approach for years to come so it’s great to see these documents adopted,” said Cr Colliton.

“The plans have been developed with significant input from our residents across the Southern Grampians and have been directly shaped by the ideas from members of our local community.

“It’s been an immensely challenging time to not only reach, but also to engage with our region so to have such a significant contribution from our community during such trying times has been no small achievement. We extend our thanks to Southern Grampians residents for getting involved in the process and look forward to seeing the vision and plans in action,” concluded Cr Colliton.

More than 1,400 ideas were submitted in the development of the plans and vision held across a range of face-to-face and virtual events/meetings as well as via hardcopy and online feedback.

All three documents are available to view at sthgrampians.vic.gov.au. Residents can request at hard copy by visiting the Brown Street Customer Service or calling 5573 0444.
