Greater Hamilton encouraged to click locally for Christmas

9 November 2020

Together with the Hamilton Regional Business Association, Southern Grampians Shire Council are proud to be launching the ‘Click for Christmas’ campaign.

The initiative, which is part of a broader economic recovery strategy, is aimed at driving awareness of local online offerings and encouraging the Greater Hamilton community to 'click for Christmas' locally when they shop online. The highly-visible pre-Christmas campaign will continue throughout November.

Manager Economic Development and Tourism Hugh Koch said the Click for Christmas marketing activities will commence this week and include digital, radio and print marketing to promote the ‘proudly local’ message.

“Now more than ever who you support matters and the ‘Click for Christmas’ campaign sees us partnering with HRBA to encourage everyone in the Greater Hamilton region to be proudly local when they go online this year to do their Christmas shopping. By selecting local products and services, gifting with local store-bought gift vouchers or booking an experience for use later, you can support those businesses who support our community year round,” Mr Koch said.

“With the unprecedented challenges and impact experienced in 2020, we are optimistic the end of the year will be a strong and rewarding period for businesses of the Greater Hamilton Region, with consumers favouring buying and supporting, locally owned businesses”, Mr Koch said.

This campaign is just one of many exciting activations being delivered as part of the annual ‘Ignite the Spirit of Christmas' activities across the region, with festive decorations already being installed in townships and festive activities being planned where possible.

“We really encourage everyone in the Greater Hamilton region to jump onto our campaign website and check out all the online local businesses that our region has to offer. This Christmas, more than ever, where you shop matters – be proudly local,” Mr Koch concluded.
