Hamilton Indoor Leisure and Aquatic Centre (HILAC) will showcase the diverse range of activities offered at the Centre in a celebration of sport and community connection. HILAC Open Day will be held on Sunday 8th October between 11:00am and 2:30pm.
From pool inflatables to bubble soccer, wheelchair basketball, gym circuits and more, this all-ages, family-friendly event will be offering free activities and tours for locals of all ages and abilities to sample throughout the day.
Family memberships will be discounted for the day, including those to shire-managed outdoor pools, with joining fees also waived.
Southern Grampians Shire Council Recreation Manager, Melanie Starr, said HILAC Open Day was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the countless leisure and recreation activities on offer at the facility.
“HILAC is the Shire’s pre-eminent leisure and recreation facility, providing a vast array of activities for people of all ages and abilities. The Open Day provides an opportunity for community members to discover an activity that’s right for them,” she said.
Starr highlighted the benefits of engaging in regular physical activity as the underlying reason for the Open Day.
“Engaging in regular physical activity is vital not only to remain physically healthy, but also to ensure optimal mental and social wellbeing. HILAC provides a fantastic opportunity for all community members to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle,” Ms Starr said.
