A new campaign encouraging Hamilton residents to support local has kicked off and with restrictions easing, the timing couldn’t be better!
The campaign, a partnership between Bendigo Bank Hamilton, Southern Grampians Shire Council and the Hamilton Regional Business Association, urges residents to shop local at Hamilton businesses, for their chance to win one of four $500 vouchers.
Council’s Manager Economic Development and Tourism Hugh Koch said now more than ever, local businesses deserve our support.
“Our business community is doing it tough right now. With all of the 2020 lockdowns and now a second one already for 2021, it is important that we come together – as a community - to support them where we can. One way that we can help is by shopping local.
“It is amazing how creative some businesses have been in adapting to the new circumstances we continue to find ourselves in. Many businesses have come up with unique ways to continue to meet their customer’s needs – whether it be online consultations, takeaway options or doing delivery services in the local area. They really deserve our support.”
“If your situation allows it, why not take a night off from cooking to order a meal from a local eatery or to look at what is available at local retail businesses before searching further afield,” said Mr Koch.
Entering the draw is easy. Simply spend $20 or more at any business in Hamilton between now and Saturday 26 June and register your receipt by using the QR code at the participating business. Alternatively, receipts can be dropped at Hamilton’s Bendigo Bank. One winner will be drawn at random every week for four weeks to receive $500 to be spent at a local Hamilton business.
“So get out there, visit your local venues, support local retailers first and celebrate and enjoy what our businesses have to offer,” Mr Koch concluded.
