Graduate Engineer Scholarship Program

Get paid to start your career in Civil Engineering

Kick start your career in Civil Engineering with the support of a Southern Grampians Shire Council scholarship.

If you are a local first year student (going into second year) completing a four-year degree in Civil Engineering, you are eligible to apply for the Council’s $15,000 scholarship.

You won’t need to hunt for a summer job. The successful student will be provided with paid work experience over the summer months November – February.

Your study needs are also covered with $5,000 of the scholarship annually going towards the cost of tertiary fees and study needs.

Guaranteed post graduate employment

As part of the scholarship, you are guaranteed a minimum of three years post graduate employment.

Graduates will be exposed to a wide variety of engineering landscapes including systems, projects and future planning.

Eligibility - here’s looking at you

• Presently enrolled in first year (going into second year in 2020) Civil Engineering Course.
• Knowledge of engineering construction principles and practices to enable all works to be professionally managed and problems to be solved;
• Computer skills in MS Office;
• Willingness to learn Knowledge of the capabilities of plant and earthmoving equipment;
• Willingness to learn basic surveying skills;
• Willingness to learn Quality Assurance principles and application to contract management;
• Willingness to learn contract management administration and practices.
