Household and Farm Chemicals

No Transfer Station in the Southern Grampians Shire can accept toxic household or farm chemicals. However, there are government schemes in place for disposal of chemicals.

Detox Your Home

Sustainability Victoria’s Detox Your Home events are set up to collect toxic household chemicals, such as cleaning products, pool chemicals, pesticides and weed killer, in order to safely dispose of them for free. Collected items are recovered for reuse or are disposed of safely.

Registrations are required to allow planning for these collection events. If insufficient registrations are received the event will be cancelled or postponed.

Forthcoming Detox Your Home Collections in our region:

DATE: Saturday 2 April 2022
TIME: 9:00am - 12:00pm
LOCATION: Hamilton Transfer Station, 68 Elijah Street Hamilton, VIC 3300

For further details of mobile household chemical collections, permanent drop-off sites, details of what materials are accepted and further information on chemical disposal please contact Council on (03) 5573 0444 or visit Sustainability Victoria’s ‘Detox your Home’ Chemical Collection Program website.
