Dunkeld Visitor Hub

The Dunkeld Visitor Hub will improve facilities near and around the Dunkeld Visitor Information Centre and the Memorial Park, making provision for the extra tourists expected to visit the area once the Grampians Peaks Trail is complete.

Council have completed extensive community consultation in 2018/2019 and recently secured funding of $500k for Regional Development Victoria (RDV). This funding will enable the first phase of the project to proceed with car parking on Wills Street to be formalised, upgraded paths and lighting in Memorial Park, traffic treatments across Parker Street, shelter and decking construction at the Visitor Information Centre and path connections to the Grampians Peaks Tail (GPT) via Salt Creek.

Future work on this project includes:

  • Detailed Features and Levels survey
  • Detailed Design
  • Constructing new parking on Wills Street
  • Constructing new pathways and lighting in Memorial Park
  • Traffic refuge across Parker Street
  • Construction of decking and shelters at the Dunkeld Visitor Information Centre
  • Construction of connecting walking paths to Salt Creek and the GPT
  • Wayfinding and GPT signage
