Tourism for Businesses

The tourism industry in the Greater Hamilton region makes a substantial contribution to the local economy by bringing new dollars into the shire that are subsequently spent on a wide range of services, from the retail sector to accommodation, restaurants, attractions and events. This income further supports industry sectors that rely on business from tourism operators such as tradesmen, builders, accountants, lawyers, etc. In the 2013/14 financial year, visitors spent an estimated $142 million per annum in the Western Grampians region (Source: Tourism Research Australia www.tra.gov.au).
