On 10 December 2008, the seven Councillors of the Southern Grampians Shire Council were officially sworn in at a Special Meeting of Council. The new Southern Grampians Shire Council includes three Councillors who were re-elected - Cr. Marcus Rentsch, Cr. Don Robertson and Cr. Katrina Rainsford, - and four new Councillors - Cr. Bruach Colliton, Cr. Paul Battista, Cr Albert Calvano and Cr. Bob Penny.
