Sir Reginald Ansett Transport Museum
Ballarat road celebrates Hamilton as the birthplace of Ansett Airlines. What started as a one man road passenger service between Hamilton and Ballarat in 1931, soon became the biggest road passenger service in the Commonwealth. By 1936, Sir Reginald had purchased his first Fokker Universal passenger plane and in February, the first Ansett Airlines flight left Hamilton for Melbourne.
Today, the Sir Reginald Ansett Transport Museum in Hamilton tells the story of his transport empire. Situated in the original hanger of Ansett Airlines of Australia, the centrepiece of the display is a Fokker Universal aircraft, similar to the one used on the first Ansett flight in 1936. The museum also displays aviation memorabilia including documents from the early days of the Ansett empire.
 The museum is open 7 days a week from 10am - 4pm.
