John’s Mother, sister Sue and her husband David continue to live in Hamilton.

Mr Brumby is married to Rosemary McKenzie and together they have 3 children.
Southern Grampians Shire Mayor Cr Mary-Ann Brown said, “We are very honoured with the news that Mr Brumby will be the Shire’s Official Australia Day Ambassador and I am sure that the Community will be inspired listening to John deliver his Australia Day Address.”

The Australia Day Ambassador Program sends high achieving Australians to over 300 community celebrations nationwide every Australia Day. Ambassadors are sportspeople, scientists, businesspeople, actors and community workers who provide added inspiration and pride to Australia Day events and activities. The Australia Day Ambassador Program is coordinated by Australia Day Councils and Committees in each state and territory.

Hamilton’s Australia Day celebrations will commence at 10:30am at the Botanic Gardens and will include musical performances by local artists, flag raising and citizenship ceremonies and a free BBQ. See What's On in our Region for further information celebrations taking place across all towns within the Shire on Australia Day.
