Event organisers across the Greater Hamilton region are invited to attend a free Events Forum next month, hosted by the Southern Grampians Shire Council.
The forum, taking place on Friday 15 June at the Hamilton Exhibition and Conference Centre, is an opportunity not to be missed for those involved in the Greater Hamilton region’s vibrant events scene. The day will be particularly valuable for community groups, sporting clubs, volunteers, venue owners, businesses and event service providers.
The theme for this year’s forum is Growing Your Audience. Two well-respected industry experts will deliver the day’s content and a panel of local event organisers will also share their experiences from running local events.
Guest speaker, Melbourne based event consultant Tracey Hull, will discuss how to communicate with and grow the different audiences of your event and will draw on her many years of experience to speak about how to future-proof your event and make it financial sustainable.
Following positive feedback from last year’s Events Forum, social media marketing specialist Mel Stewart from HyperSocial in Geelong will return to share more insights into digital marketing. Mel will discuss how to create engaging visual content using digital tools, and will run a hands-on workshop on targeted Facebook advertising campaigns.
Council representatives will be in attendance to share advice and resources and to discuss Council’s community grants program which has its second round for 2018 opening in August.
The event will provide the opportunity for peer-to-peer learning, networking within the tourism and events industry and local food and drink will be provided. Attendees will have the opportunity to win a lucky door prize, and will also go into the draw to win a FREE holiday to Fiji, New Caledonia or Thailand in Council’s ‘Connect with Council’ giveaway.
