Australia Day 2018

Join us for the Southern Grampians Shire Council’s free community celebration at the Hamilton Botanic Gardens on Australia Day, or join your community at the events taking place in towns across the Greater Hamilton region.

Time: 10:30am start
Location: Hamilton Botanic Gardens
Activities: Flag Raising, Performances by Hamilton Brass and Hamilton Singers, Australia Day Ambassador; Emily Burke, Citizenship Ceremony, Australia Day Award presentations,
Free BBQ by Hamilton Lions Club and live music in the rotunda during the community lunch.
Inclement weather venue: Hamilton Performing Arts Centre.

Time: 10 am – 12 noon
Location: Balmoral Swimming Pool
Activities: Flag raising, guest speaker, free community, BBQ brunch

Time: 8.30am start
Location: Byaduk Sports Pavillion
Activities: Free breakfast and flag raising ceremony. Guest speaker: Bush poet John Graham

Time: 5:30pm-8pm
Location: Branxholme Hall (Supper Room)
Activities: Guest Speaker: Historian Laurie Moore. Cold meat and salads, BYO chairs.

Time: 9:30am
Location: Town Square
Activities:Community recognition awards, shared morning tea, BBQ lunch at the Bunyip Hotel and music. Guest speaker: Reverend Peter Cook

Location: Coleraine Tourist Information and Exhibition Centre
Activities: Breakfast, flag raising, award presentation, guest speaker and music.

Time: 8:00am
Location: Dunkeld Memorial Park, Parker Street
Activities:Flag raising, Local award presentations, free breakfast.

Time: 12 noon
Location: Glenthompson Recreation Reserve
Activities: Flag raising, official ceremony with Guest Speaker. Roast lamb lunch and fruit salad dessert.

Time: 8:30am
Location: Penshurst Botanic Gardens
Activities: Flag raising, official ceremony with local awards and Guest Speaker, free BBQ breakfast.

Time: 8:30am
Location: Tarrington Community Park
Activities: Flag raising, free BBQ breakfast.
