Excitement Builds for 2017 Business Awards

15 June 2017

The countdown is on to unveil the winners at the highly anticipated 2017 Telstra Southern Grampians Business Awards.

Tickets are on sale now for next week’s gala presentation evening being held at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre on Friday 23 June.

The awards aim to recognise businesses that achieve excellence in their business performance, provide outstanding service to customers and are innovative and entrepreneurial.

This year, the awards process was heavily focused on being a development opportunity for all entrants. The entry form allowed a structured process of self-assessment and each business was visited by a single judge and provided with written feedback. The judge, Kevin Bennett, is experienced in working with enterprises to develop their business and all entrants will be invited to attend a post-awards workshop which will address business development opportunities identified during the awards process.

Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Mary-Ann Brown said the awards are a fantastic way for businesses to demonstrate their contribution to the local economy.

"This will be the 21st year the awards have been held and it is now established as the premier event on the business calendar. Entering into the awards gives you an opportunity to reflect on your business and celebrate your business achievements." Cr Mary-Ann Brown said.

“Our business community is continuing to thrive and grow with significant new development underway and the strengthening of partnerships between Council, community and business. The future looks bright for our region and there is much to recognise and celebrate.” Cr Brown concluded.

Ensuring the festivities run smoothly on the night will be Ace Radio 3HA’s Jon and Kate, from the Morning Rush, who will bring their high energy to the stage as the evening’s MCs.

Tickets for the gala dinner are still available and can be purchased from the Performing Arts Centre box office for $55 per person.
