| There are three key stages of community consultation, which are briefly outlined below:
Stage 1: April 2009
Steering committee establishment and pre-development of the Sustainability Strategy framework process.
Stage 2: October - November 2009
Setting the priorities and directions with the community.
Based on the outcomes of Stage 1, a topic-based “Discussion paper” for was developed for consultation.
Using this Discussion Paper as a starting point, we will:
• Hold a number of community workshops to refine the content of the “Discussion paper”;
• Call for submissions from the community (the “Discussion paper” is available as reference)
What will we do with the information?
We will produce a series of topic based directions papers, which will directly feed into the content of the new strategy.
Stage 3: November-December 2009
Strategy preparation and refinement
How will we do this?
• We will use the findings from the community consultation process to shape the content of a Local Sustainability Strategy.
• We will provide an opportunity to comment on the draft Local Sustainability Strategy.
• We will produce the final Sustainability Strategy for Southern Grampians
Community members are invited to be involved at any stage of the process and may register their interest by emailing Council's Sustainability Coordinator Marta Vergara on mvergara@sthgrampians.vic.gov.au
